By March 13, 2018 April 25th, 2018 News

The Envision Montgomery Steering Committee conducted its second meeting in early April with the discussion focusing on major plan issues and outreach and engagement. The meeting began with a presentation from the Planning Team of the initial findings from the baseline research and analysis. The committee then broke out into three discussion groups focusing on the publicity campaign, outreach efforts, and the major plan issues and topics.

In its first meeting in February, the committee received an orientation to the process from the Planning Team and discussed major opportunities for Montgomery.

The Committee will continue to meet throughout the process to plan and coordinate the engagement campaign, review research materials, and set the direction for major plan elements like the community vision, goals and the plan recommendations.

The Steering Committee is made up of 50 leaders from around the community. This group was intentionally selected to represent the wide range of interests and backgrounds present in Montgomery today. Over the course of the project, the committee will reach out the public to elicit ideas, gather support, and discover new leadership to guide plan implementation.

Materials (presentations, agenda, etc.) will be added to the resources page of the Envision Montgomery 2040 webpage after each Steering Committee meeting. To review these materials click this link: www.envisionmontgomery2040.org/resources.
